The Expendables 3 Official Trailer #1 (2014) - Sylvester Stallone Movie HD
From this trailer it is easy to see that 'The expendables 3' is an action film. There were many genre indicators in this trailer. One genre indicator was that there was a lot of explosions and stunts, there were many explosions in vehicles and buildings. Also there was a lot of fight scenes, where guns and other devices were used. Gun fights are stereo typically shown in action films. From the trailer we find out that there are hero's and villains. Conventionally in action films hero's and villains are shown. The sound from the middle to end of the trailer is fast which links well with the film. Fast paced editing is used quite a lot throughout the trailer. Fast paced editing is a common theme in action films, its effect is making the film more fast paced and exciting.
In this trailer we see that actors such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harrison Ford and Sylvester Stallone are in the film. These actors will all be unique selling points. These actors are well respected and all have very good reputations, having these actors will make the demand for the film increase. From this I can conclude that Sylvester Stallone is the main character in the film. One reason is that he gets a lot of screen time, this will mean that the audience have a chance to get to know the character and warm to him. Also Stallone is the person who speaks the most in this trailer, this would suggest his importance.
From the trailer we see that the film is associated with 'Lionsgate' and 'Millennium films'. Also we know the release date, as it shows that it comes out this August. The font is bold, bold font is stereo typically used in action film trailers as it connotes that it is quite serious. Also the titles having blue and red flashing lights, could connote police car sirens. This could show that violence and some sort of wrong doing will happen in the film. In this trailer the same sort of theme is shown throughout. In the beginning, middle and end there is violence shown.
